About our Founder

PICS2-DW at Ironman 2012 running.jpgDarnell Williams has had a passion for enhancing the health & nutrition of others for more than 25 years. His passion for healthy living was sparked after having his grandmother die from cancer and his uncle pass away from complications due to diabetes. The pinnacle alarm went off when his mom, Dorothy Williams, had a heart attack and subsequent triple bypass surgeries. As her primary care-giver, walking with her through numerous stint insertions, hospital close-calls, diabetes management, and a toe amputation, Darnell knew he had to find a better way to help maximize his family’s health and well-being.

A solution was to take a nutrition class at his local church, Living Word Christian Center. He later joined the Agape Health & Fitness Ministry, a volunteer group that helps people learn and apply physical wellness principles.

Darnell is a certified nutrition consultant and has taught classes and workshops at charity organizations, youth groups, schools, Ironman training groups and other civic and wellness organizations.

Darnell has completed a Full Ironman triathlon (140.6 miles), 2 Half-Ironman triathlons (70.3 miles), one 50 mile Ultra-marathon, two 50K Ultra-marathons (31 miles each), the New York Marathon, 15 consecutive Chicago Marathons, a Green Bay Wisconsin Marathon, 10 Half Marathons, and a variety of other shorter races.

Darnell is also the Founder/Race Director of Elijah Road Races which annually hosts the highly popular Faith & Fitness 5k/10k Race , voted “Best 5k/10k Race” in the Midwest Region by nationally distributed periodical, Competitor Magazine.

He is a USA Track & Field Certified Level 1 Coach, Certified Race Director (graduate of RDU) and is CPR/AED certified. He was also a spokes-model for the 25th Anniversary Chicago Marathon Ad campaign in 2002. In 2007, he was featured in the 30th Anniversary edition of the Chicago Marathon Race Results, a book sent internationally to all race participants. Darnell has also been honored to be a regular guest on Moody Radio's Urban Praise nationally-syndicated broadcast.

Darnell’s life mission is to see people take charge of their health by EXERCISING THEIR FAITH and empower them to achieve a maximized sense of well-being and purpose.

Dear friend, I hope all is well with you and that you are HEALTHY IN BODY
as you are STRONG IN SPIRIT.
